Memory
Upgrade.
When I purchased this
laptop is had Windows XP Pro installed and 1gig of
RAM to run it which all worked fine. I then
installed Windows Vista Home Premium and the memory
struggled so I decided to up it to 2gig. This gives
you the method of doing it.

1) First you must
turn the laptop over and remove the 7 screws shown and then
remove the cover.
2) Once the
cover is removed you must unscrew the memory chip is
clearly visible on the left. To remove it simply
spring the two clips open (one at each end of the
chip) the chip will then hinge up and once at its
maximum will then pull straight out. Reverses the
operation to fit the new memory module.

3) The other
memory chip isn't as easy to find. First you have to
remove the keyboard. This is done by depressing
three small spring loaded clips along the top of the
keyboard. You can see in the picture one of the
clips. After pressing them in the keyboard will rise
slightly but you will have to pull with some force
to lift it as there are magnets holding it down as
well. Once you have lifted the keyboard you much
unclip the ribbon cable going to the computer. This
is done by sliding the grey plastic clip on the
socket back and then the ribbon is free to remove.
Alternatively you can sometimes fold the keyboard
back out of the way. Be careful doing this as you
don't want to damage the ribbon cable.

4) Once the
keyboard is out of the way you need to remove the
metal plate in the centre of the laptop. This is
done by removing one screw and then lifting the
plate out of the way.

5) Once the plate
is removed you will then find the second memory
chip. Remove and replace in the same way as before.
Then replace the cover and keyboard. If you
completely removed the keyboard make sure that you
push the grey plastic front back after locating the
ribbon. To clip the keyboard back into place just
locate the studs along the bottom edge of the
keyboard and then push down along the top. You
should here an audible click as each of the three
clips locate.
