For those of you
who don't know my youngest son has a serious
congenital heart defect. I was shocked to discover
that if he had been born 10-12 years ago there would
have been nothing they could have done for him and
he would have died. As it is now he has to have
severe open heart surgery every 5-10 years for the
rest of his life.
Imagine is the name
of Alder Hey's charity. Every donation they receive
helps to improve the quality of life for children in
hospital. From researching medical conditions to
buying vital equipment, to building a better
environment and providing support for patients and
their families. The British Heart Foundation help in
funding research for new treatments which for us
could mean greater time intervals between surgeries or
improved odds of survival during and after surgery.
RMHC (Ronald McDonald House Charities)
provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation
for the families of children requiring in-patient
care in hospitals and hospices across the UK.
I know there are thousands of worthy charities out
there but these one's are very close to me and my
family, so if you where considering donating any
money soon please consider the above. Thanks.
